Description: The high ground clearance option for 9" housings addresses the bottom corner of the housing center that hangs down when the unit is rotated up to achieve proper pinion angle by shaving that bottom corner off and filling it with a 1/4" thick steel welded in plate. Ground clearance gain is obviously dependant on your pinion angle, but generally it is about an inch - but this option definitely makes the shape of the housing more "aerodynamic" as far as sliding over rocks and not catching a corner of your undercarriage.
