Universal 9-inch crate rearend are built with the pinion centered on the housing and feature 3-inch diameter axle tubes with Torino style large bearing housing ends. Axles are Currie Perfromance 31-spline, with dual wheel bolt patterns and include wheel bearings and heavy duty 1/4 inch thick bearing retainer plates. Universal housings do not include suspension or shock mounting brackets

  Billet Housing Ends - Currie billet late model Ford Torino large bearing housing ends are CNC machined for accuracy and feature provisions for internal or external axle oil seals
     
  Alloy Axles - Currie Performance 31-spline 1541 alloy axles with dual drilled bolt patterens and Timken tapered axle bearings. Full set of both 1/2 and 7/16-inch studs are shipped loose
     
  Bearing Retainers - Full-circle heavy-duty retainers assure positive bearing retention and full seal engagement for a long trouble and leak-free service life. *Select aftermarket brake kits require the use of proprietary bearing retainers

  Gear Ratio - Select from a wide variety of ratios, Currie uses only the highest quality Motive Gear Performance® series (Orange box) ring and pinion sets in our 9-inch crate rearends
     
  Differential - Select the differential type that meets your traction needs, including standard open, helical gear or clutch style limited slip, automatic or selectable locking differential or steel spool
     
  Brake Package - Select from a range of brake options from classic 11-inch drums to 14-inch Baer and Wilwood disk brakes that are capable of meeting any performance requirement
     
  REM® Isotropic Polishing - Removes surface imperfections created during the gear manufacturing process. Polishing eliminates the need for a break-in period, decreases friction, reduces operating temps and removes stress risers. This option helps gears last longer and run quieter
     
  Fill Cap - Make those oil changes easy with the optional high mounted aluminum fill cap
     
  Drain Plug - This simple option makes changing the oil so much easier - no more removing the brakes, axles and the third member for a simple oil change

Mounting Brackets - Universal 9-inch crate rearends do not include vehicle specific suspension or shock mounting brackets

Lubrication Requirements - 9-inch rearends use a high-offset hypoid gear design that requires a sever duty gear oil with API GL-6 rating. Use of oil not meeting the GL-6 rating will damage the gears and bearings and void the Currie Warranty.

Aftermarket Brakes - Currie crate rearends conform to the ABCS (Aftermarket Brake Configuration Standard). This allows brake kits that use this standard, to easily be changed or upgraded without having to modify the housing or axles. ABCS brakes use a 2.5” brake space with late-model big bearing Ford housing ends, and a 2.80 center hole in the drum or rotor.

Wheel Studs - Includes one set of 1/2" wheel studs and one set of 7/16" wheel studs. Studs are shipped loose
