By isolating the axle shaft from the vehicle’s load, the full-float design eliminates unwanted brake pad knock-back experienced under heavy cornering loads. Additionally, the rear ends can accommodate the C7 Corvette wheel-speed sensor, enabling full integration of traction control and ABS systems for advanced handling and control.

Brake options, Currie integrates Wilwood brake kits designed for Big Bearing Ford Torino-style housing ends with a 2.5-inch axle offset. These kits are offered in 11-inch to 14-inch rotor sizes, with mechanical, electronic, or no-parking-brake options, and smooth or drilled/slotted rotors to suit street, autocross, or show applications. Additionally, caliper mounting locations are 360° clockable, allowing builders to easily position the calipers out of the way of suspension bracketry or frame rails — a critical advantage in custom chassis and tight-clearance applications. No other full-float option on the market matches this level of flexibility.

Currie Apex Floater Housing End

Apex Floater housing feature ends designed for C7 unit bearings and engineered to accept modified Wilwood brake kits with electronic or manual caliper parking brakes

C7 Corvette Speed Sensor

Apex Floater housing ends are engineered to accept optional C7 speed sensors, enabling integration with performance computers for ABS and traction control.

Available Bolt Patterns

Currie offers C7 unit bearings with a 5 x 4.75 wheel-bolt pattern and either 12 mm or 1/2-inch studs for popular muscle-car and truck applications.

Alloy Axles

Currie Apex Floater full-float axles feature a 31-spline end for the 9-inch differential and a 33-spline hub end to match C7 unit bearings, offering maximum flexibility and compatibility.

Brake Mounting Flexibility

Wilwood's round backing plate features 20 threaded holes, enabling both the stopping and parking brake calipers to be mounted independently anywhere along a 360-degree arc. This design maximizes flexibility, making it easy to clear brackets, shocks, or exhaust components.

Parking Brake

Apex Floater brake options utilize Wilwood's Electronic Parking Brake packages and are available with manual cable-operated (left), electronic (right) parking-brake calipers, or without a parking brake, offering flexibility to suit your needs.
