Options To Complete The Build

Ring and Pinion   Gear Ratio - Select from a wide variety of ratios, Currie uses only the highest quality ring and pinion sets in our 9-inch crate rear-ends

Differential Options   Differential - Select the differential type that meets your traction needs, including helical gear Posi, clutch-style limited-slip, automatic locking differential, or steel spool

Brake Options

Brake Package - Select from a range of brake options ranging from 11-inch Explorer to 14-inch Baer and Wilwood disk brakes that are capable of meeting any performance requirement

Gear Polishing   REM® Isotropic Polishing - Removes surface imperfections created during the gear manufacturing process. Polishing eliminates the need for a break-in period, decreases friction, reduces operating temps, and removes stress risers. This option helps gears last longer and run quieter

Powder Coat   Powder Coat - Optional powder coat finish adds long-lasting protection against rust and corrosion to keep your rear-end looking its best

NOTES:

Lubrication Requirements - Ford 9-inch rear ends use a high-offset hypoid gear design requiring severe duty gear oil with API GL-6 rating. Use of oil not meeting the GL-6 rating will damage the gears and bearings and void the Currie Warranty

Brake Lines - Rear-ends equipped with a brake package will include flex lines installed (rubber for Explorer brakes,  braided stainless for Wilwood and Bear brakes). Hard Brake lines are not included

Aftermarket Brakes - Currie crate rear ends conform to the ABCS (Aftermarket Brake Configuration Standard). This allows brake kits that use this standard to be easily changed or upgraded without modifying the housing or axles. ABCS brakes use a 2.5-inch brake space with late-model big-bearing Ford housing ends and a 2.80 center hole in the drum or rotor.

Wheel Studs - Currie crate rear ends use standardized-shank Currie Enterprises wheel studs that allow the following wheel studs to be interchangeable in the axles without drilling: 12mm, 7/16, 1/2, and 1/2 x 3-inch competition
