Options To Complete The Build

Gear Cases - Select from a range of gear cases in nodular iron or aluminum to match the performance and weight requirements of your build

Ring and Pinion Set   Gear Ratio - Select from a wide variety of ratios, Currie uses only the highest quality Motive Gear Performance® series (Orange box) ring and pinion sets in our 9-inch crate rear-ends

Differential Options   Differential - Select the differential type that meets your traction needs, including helical gear or clutch-style limited-slip, automatic locking differential, or steel spool

Brake Options   Brake Package - Select from a range of brake options from classic 11-inch drums to 14-inch Baer and Wilwood disk brakes that are capable of meeting any performance requirement

Isotropic Gear Polishing   REM® Isotropic Polishing - Removes surface imperfections created during the gear manufacturing process. Polishing eliminates the need for a break-in period, decreases friction, reduces operating temps, and removes stress risers. This option helps gears last longer and run quieter

Powder Coat   Powder Coat - Optional powder coat finish adds long-lasting protection against rust and corrosion to keep your rear-ends looking their best

NOTES:

Lubrication Requirements - 9-inch rear ends use a high-offset hypoid gear design requiring severe duty gear oil with API GL-6 rating. Use of oil not meeting the GL-6 rating will prematurely wear the gears and bearings and void the Currie Warranty

4-Link Suspension - If you have a B-body with 4-link suspension, give us a call, and we'll build a rear end with the required brackets

Aftermarket Brakes - Currie crate rear end conform to the ABCS (Aftermarket Brake Configuration Standard). This allows brake kits that use this standard to easily be changed or upgraded without modifying the housing or axles. ABCS brakes use a 2.5-inch brake space with late-model big-bearing Ford housing ends and a 2.80 center hole in the drum or rotor

Wheel Studs - Currie rear ends use standardized-shank Currie Enterprises wheel studs that allow the following wheel studs to be interchangeable in the axles without drilling: 12mm, 7/16, 1/2, and 1/2 x 3-inch competition

Narrowed Option - Currie offers a narrowed option that is 3 inches overall narrower than stock width to accommodate vehicles running wheel well skirts, with installed smaller diameter reverse mount wheels typically found on Lowriders and Lowrods.
